Sadness? Regret? Sorrow? Torment? Pain? Haunted souls? Torture? Despair? Emptiness?
Once they had great onwers who took care of them and loved them.
Then one day a farmer appeared and showed interest on them. With all his curruption he managed to get them both.
Maybe for pure cruelty or more he tortured them; broke the Unicorn Stallion's horn and blinded the Pegasus Mare.
The Unicorn was found dead one morning without his horn and a scar near his left eye.
The next morning the Pegasus was found dead too with her eyes almost white from blindness and her forehead bejeweled in such a brutal way that she was bleeding.
How did they die no one knows, but they say that in foggy nights, if you listen carefully you can still hear them scream like in the night when they died.

Haven't done any graphite works in a while. I love this picture, probably one of my best. Yes the thing hanging on the Unicorn's neck is the rest of his horn.

And yes, I'm aware that ghosts are usually transparent and blah blah blah but hey, nothing can hold your imagination once you start a drawing right?

Edit: I can't believe this! I got a Mods choice! *jumps and runs around the house* I cried from happiness when i saw this! Thank you all for your comments and many many many thanks to the moderators! My first Mods Choice on 29th August.

Ah this is pretty! The only thing I could recommend is adding more contrast. You’d be amazed how much better this would look.

:-) Joana Figueiredo replies: "Yeah, I’ve been working on that. This one is an oldie now so... Thank you!"

When you say "...her forehead was bejeweled in such a brutual way...", do you mean that someone actually drove jewels into her forehead? also, is that a scar on her neck? or just a shadow?

This is so good, i nearly cried when I saw his horn around his neck, and the jewels and blindness on her. excuse me, I now must run out to my barn and cry into my mare’s, gelding’s, and pony’s manes. ~runs to barn at breakneck speed~

:-) Joana Figueiredo replies: "Yes, I do. And no, it’s just a shadow.
Aww thank you so much! I’m happy to see this still has some emotional impact on people, even though it’s so old."
