"Afraid Of The Light" by Joana Figueiredo

I fell in love with this quote after I heard it on a Criminal Minds episode and I drew a quick cross hatching pen sketch inspired by it a few months ago.
After a while, I decided to turn it into an actual work and started sketching on this shiny light gold paper I had bought.
I thought colored pencils wouldn't work on that paper because of its texture, turns out I was wrong.

I wasn't going for accurate anatomy here, I was more concentrated on the shading and coloring and it ended up being one of my favorite works of all time. I just wish I hadn't made the inside of the ears so dark.

I just love thick necked equines!
